The Nevada Governor’s Council on Developmental Disabilities and The Arc of Nevada will be hosting the 2023 Developmental Disabilities Awareness Day at the Legislature on Wednesday, March 8th. We invite Self-Advocates and their family members to attend the Day at the Nevada State Legislature to learn more about the Nevada Legislative process, meet with key policy makers/Legislators, sit on the Assembly and/or Senate floor, witness testimony on key issues, and explore Legislative grounds.
Additionally, there will be an opportunity for training on Tuesday, March 7th that will provide you with information on how to identify and discuss key issues with your Legislators, and to learn more about the Nevada Legislative process. Please indicate on your registration if you will be attending the training day.
Out of town attendees will be arriving in Carson City on March 6th. Breakfast and Lunch will be provided on the 7th. Only lunch will be provided on the 8th.

The training will take place on March 7th at the Governor’s Mansion from 9 AM – 2 PM. Breakfast and check in start at 8:30 AM. There is limited accessible parking in front of the mansion. Please save these spots for those that need them. Additionally, we will be providing transportation to/from the Federal Hotel for those staying there starting at 7:30 AM until 8:30 AM. All transportation past this time, will be at the expense of the participant.
The DD Awareness Day will be on March 8th and will take place in room 3100 and the front foyer of the Nevada Legislature in Carson City Nevada. The events will take place starting at 8 AM and lasting until 3 PM. Details and agendas will be handed out in person the day of the event.
Lastly, there will be DD Awareness Day swag available for each person that attends the event. Please see the NGCDD Staff to retrieve yours.
