5-YEAR STATE PLAN

In every state and territory, programs authorized by the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act (DD Act) empower individuals with developmental disabilities and their families to help shape policies that impact them. Different programs have different rules on what they can do and how they can spend their money.

Developmental Disability Councils in each state and US territory, design a 5-Year State Plan (5YSP) to provide education and fund projects to show new ways that people with disabilities can be fully included in their community. The DD Act allows Councils to choose Federal “Areas of Emphasis” to focus on based on gaps in service identified in our State. The information collected will help us determine those gaps and develop the goals and activities for our next State Plan.

The Nevada Governor’s Council on Developmental Disabilities regularly review our plans to ensure we meeting the current needs of our state.

The Council’s current 5YSP ends on September 30, 2026. Our new 5YSP begins on October 1, 2026. You can view both plans below. Please note that the new 5YSP will remain in draft form until fully approved by the Administration on Community Living.
